Deep Cove Learn to Sail CANSail 1-4 coach

Deep Cove Learn to sail is seeking a CANSail 1-4 coach for summer 2026, our program offers all levels from beginners to racers ranging from 8 years old to adults. As an instructor with Deep Cove Learn to Sail you are responsible for instructing and evaluating sailors in Opti levels 1-3 and CANSail 1-4. This role involves on-water coaching focusing on beginner skills up to racing skills.

• Location: Deep Cove Yacht club, North Vancouver, BC

• Duration: June 30 - August 24

• M-F 8:30 - 16:30 with opportunities for overtime and shoulder season work

What we are Looking for:

• Able to coach and certify CANSail 1-4

• Maintain up-to-date Sail Canada prerequisites and be a registered instructor in good standing

• Be enthusiastic and professional to ensure a safe and fun environment

• Active sailor who is continuously developing their skillset

Responsibilities:

• Instruct/evaluate CANSail 1-4 classes and lower levels

• Develop and deliver CANSail lessons appropriate for sailors’ level

• Follow Sail Canada safety regulations

• Assist with morning and afternoon dock duties (cleaning, filling gas, ect.)

• Work with other coaches to provide safe and fun learning environment.

• Interact with sailors, parents, and other staff professionally

• Report to the Head Instructor as required

• Provide an inclusive, welcoming, and flexible learning environment for all participants

Wage: $19-$25 to be negotiated based on experience
